St. Andrews Education Foundation

Being the founder of President, David K Pillai under his supervision established St. Andrews College of Nursing, one of the outstanding nursing colleges in India.

Under the able guidance of Dr David K Pillai, St. Andrews Education Foundation established the St. Andrews College of Nursing, a Christian minority institution. David K Pillai established St. Andrews Education Foundation, Pune, which is a charitable trust, was formulated under the Public Trust Act of 1950.

The college was established on 6th November 2006 with a basic B.Sc. nursing course. The college has been granted by the Government of Maharashtra and is affiliated with the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nashik and is recognized by the Indian Nursing Council, New Delhi and Maharashtra Nursing Council, Mumbai. The initial intake capacity in 2009 was 30 seats per year which have been increased to 40 seats per year given its success and recognition.

Dr David K Pillai ensured that students passing out from St. Andrews College of Nursing get placed at various national and international hospitals thereby giving a golden opportunity for the students to pursue their dreams. David Pillai also ensured that the college has a sustainable and active National Service Scheme unit and an active Student Nurses Association to aid the community and hone individual skills.

David K Pillai’s long term vision has enabled the St. Andrews College of Nursing to build consistently a steady stream of competent practitioners, nurse administrators, nurse educators and researchers. Being a prominent leader himself, Dr David K Pillai believes in building a network of capable professionals to build a healthier tomorrow for India and share responsibility and accountability to our communities.

Dr David K Pillai defines his aims & objectives for the college that ensures the students, the staff and the faculty get the best of everything. David Pillai established the St. Andrews College of Nursing with an overall aim to prepare quality nursing graduates and to instil in them to assume the responsibility in promotive, preventive and curative care of the people, sick or well and to act as professional nurses.
